For real estate agents, a blurry logo on a flag or A-frame usually isn't caught until the sign is already outside a listing. The file that looked fine on a business card or an email signature turns out to have held only enough detail for a screen, and once it's stretched across a metre-wide board, that shortfall is on full display outside a property you're trying to sell! The cause is almost always the same as the artwork was raster, not vector, and certain file types run out of detail once they're scaled up. The fix depends on what file you're actually starting with.
One Listing, Five Different Sign Sizes
A single campaign can put the same logo on a on a variety of promotional products and materials, and a logo built for a website header rarely holds up across the board. What might look sharp on a flyer and start softening on the A-frame, then turn visibly blocky on the flag. Because agents reuse the same file across a run of signage rather than ordering one item at a time, a resolution problem doesn't stay contained to a single sign, and instead it shows up everywhere that file gets used next.

Start Here! What File Do You Actually Have?
If you have an AI, EPS, or vector PDF file you're already set. Vector artwork is built from paths and curves rather than pixels, so it can be scaled from a business card to a shop-front flag without losing sharpness. Send this version and there's nothing further to check when ordering a flag or banner.
If you only have a JPG or PNG, the file might still work or it might not. It all actually depends on how large and uncompressed it is relative to the sign you're ordering. A high resolution original saved from a design file will generally hold up better than one exported from a website or grabbed from a social media profile, which are built for screens rather than print. As a rough check, open the file and zoom in, if the edges already look soft on screen, they'll look worse at sign size.
If the only file you can find is small, blurry or a screenshot of course stretching it further won't help. This is because enlarging a raster file spreads the same limited pixels over more space rather than adding detail back in. At this point, the more useful move is usually to get a proper vector version made once, rather than reordering the same low quality file for every new listing.
What If You Only Have a Blurry JPG?
This is where most agents find themselves, the only logo file on hand is a small JPG or PNG, and the original artwork has long since been lost. Rather than settling for a soft or pixelated result on your next flag or banner, our vector re-design service digitally re-traces your existing raster logo into a true vector file. The process keeps your logo exactly as it is with the same colours, proportions and design whilst eliminating the pixelation and other issues that comes from enlarging a raster file. It's not a rebrand, just a technical fix that gets your existing logo print-ready, and once complete you'll receive your new vector logo in multiiple formats so you have a master file ready for this order and every future print run.
Getting Branding Right the First Time
A flag, banner or sign board is often the most visible piece of marketing an agency puts out, so it's worth getting the artwork right before production begins rather than troubleshooting after a print has already gone wrong.
Supplying vector artwork where possible, sending high quality files when it isn't, and checking with your printer ahead of time are straightforward ways to avoid a blurry outcome and keep your branding looking sharp at any size.
